Below are a selection of press releases.
Integrated LASERVISION system automatically captures, analyzes and documents AFP inspection data
Providing fully automated inspection for the first time in high-performance composites manufacturing, Assembly Guidance Systems (Chelmsford, Mass.) has shipped its first four LASERVISION units to automated fiber placement (AFP) manufacturer Electroimpact, Inc. (Mukilteo, Washington). “We are fully integrating LASERVISION into our AFP machine cell,” notes Electroimpact engineer Todd Rudberg, “so that our customers can ensure alignment, place courses, and inspect their work product all from a single operator interface.”
Assembly Guidance (Chelmsford, Mass.) today announced the launch of LASERVISION, a revolutionary laser projector with integrated aimed vision that can reduce the time associated with the layup and inspection of composites parts by over 50%. Combining advanced laser projection with high-performance imaging, this new system automates in-process quality monitoring, verification and documentation of composites parts, thus streamlining production significantly.
An agreement announced today between Assembly Guidance (Chelmsford, Mass., USA) and JETCAM Composite GmbH (Hohenschäftlarn, Germany) provides European composites makers with vertically complementary manufacturing technologies, all from one distributor. JETCAM’s appointment as European distributor of Assembly Guidance’s LASERGUIDE laser projection systems significantly broadens the company’s range of enabling technologies for composites manufacture.
JETCAM international s.a.r.l. today announced the successful installation of JETCAM Expert and CrossTrack composite manufacturing suite at Connova AG, Switzerland, a leading marketer of high performance composites.
The five-day installation, performed by JETCAM Composite GmbH, took place in April 2014, covering installation of JETCAM Expert and CrossTrack, plus training for three staff. CrossTrack AMS (Advanced Manufacturing Station) was installed to provide real-time tracking and control of materials, plies, kits, orders and nests. JETCAM Expert, in conjunction with its High Performance Nesting module was configured in ‘RCP’ (remote control processing) mode to completely automate the import, ‘cleaning’, profiling and nesting of CAD files - all controlled remotely via CrossTrack.
